Both sons loved this pillow and the 2 year old will continue to use it to this day. Very comfortable as a nursing pillow and a safe resting place for babies. Both of my sons overheated easily and got too hot when I tried to hold or rock them during bottle feeding. My oldest is autistic and never liked being held, period. Even as a newborn, when I tried to snuggle with him, he arched his back and cried until he lay down. This helped him still feel comfortable and secure and also provided some rearward airflow to avoid sweating. What you should consider: Please regularly pay attention to the shape of your baby's head and change the length of time you stay on this pillow. accordingly if a flat spot or other problem occurs. As long as you give him enough time to lie on his stomach and don't leave him in one place for too long, you should be fine. Partly because of our son's hatred of being held, we let him lie on this pillow more times than we should. He never slept on it as it is not recommended and unsafe, but he spent much of his waking time in it. After a few months we noticed a change in his head shape and went to the pediatrician to fix this problem. In hindsight, if we had put him on his stomach more and moved him more often, that could have been avoided. The situation with our sons was not caused by the pillow, but by our actions and our over-dependence on it. Just thought it was worth mentioning so others are aware of the consequences of overusing a product like this.
