Very sharp: Cutting tools

These are sharp scissors suitable for embroidery or other fine cutting work. The 5 inch model has a 1.5 inch pointed blade. The blades are coated with stainless steel. The handles are plastic with softer silicone inserts around the finger holes for a comfortable grip. The screw is sealed so the blades cannot be taken apart for sharpening. The blades are sharp enough. The blades are not spring-loaded, so it takes energy for your fingers to open them. The sheath is made of thick clear plastic and has loops for inserting a lanyard. The CuttingEdge logo is engraved on one edge of the blade. The scissors are made in China, I like how sharp they are. They quickly cut a variety of materials from thread to foam packaging and tape. And paper of course. The sharp, pointed ends are great for pulling loose seams or inserting into the edges of a box to cut packing tape. The scabbard is a necessary accessory as the blade tips are very sharp. The cover fits well and doesn't fall off. Unlike specialized embroidery machines, these scissors aren't spring-loaded, but the blades are sharp enough that I didn't miss the spring-loading. I am a woman with small/medium hands. The finger holes on these typewriters fit me perfectly. I don't think my husband would be comfortable with clippers as his fingers are much larger. All in all a good clipper, sharp enough for many demanding tasks while being very compact.
