Review on CUCYMA Track Riding Motorcycle Backpack for Motorsports, Motorsport Backpack by Eric Avina

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great price and design!

I can't tell if it's fake or not but I can say that my last backpack was clearly a copy of the Ogio Mach 3. This backpack is different day and night. This backpack is the larger model and barely fits in my 15.6 inch HP Omen laptop. The quality of this backpack is top notch. The red interior is lined with felt so nothing scratches my precious cargo. Cargo from bags, namely the pen storage where I keep my touchscreen pens. The "tablet" flap easily fits my iPad or the company's Surface Pro 5 and has an elastic Velcro strap to keep it from falling out when I open the flaps. The outer hand straps are well padded (my last one had no padding at all and wasn't the most comfortable) and the length adjustment straps have clips that hold the extra strap that usually flaps around (it's a very nice touch) that makes a backpack as aerodynamic as possible. I was riding my motorcycle to work and had a mini panic attack because I thought I had left my backpack at home. So it seems to be invisible when you drive. I don't use a lap belt, but a lap belt. The chest strap redistributes the weight along with virtually zero wind noise and the weight being so close to my body I literally forgot it was there. This backpack seems top notch. Pullers are attached to the zipper for easy finding (another annoyance with my last backpack was digging with my fingernails to find the zipper). It comes with a rain cover (which is pretty much not needed unless you're caught in a storm, as the pack is pretty waterproof in moderate drizzle anyway). The rain cover has a clip that goes around the top of the pack and one that attaches under the handle on the outside of the pack, so it's not likely to come loose in strong winds. This is another very nice touch. It also has a helmet hook, a SOLID metal carabiner and zippers on either side of the opening in the backpack (like expandable suitcases) that offer a little more storage space. The attention to detail is amazing except for my next item below including the real leather overlay in the grip area which is very comfortable to hold in hand. My ONLY criticism of the backpack is that the visor holder is sewn onto the backpack meaning it cannot be removed without cutting it out. However, it wouldn't matter much if it actually matched the visor. I have a SHOEI RF-1100 and my buddy was trying out his RF-1200 sights. Both require about 0.5" more room in the fixed/mounted sleeve to fit. Since these helmet models are among the most common, along with a very common visor size, this leads me to believe that the short sleeve was left out of the design. However, I found a workaround: cut the ends of the sleeve so the left and right ends of the visor hang down freely. The felt-lined shell and just enough contact points to keep it in place with the pack prevent the visor from moving anywhere, so the slots on the shell don't affect the pack's functionality in any way. I'm new to sewing needles but I'm sure I can cut the sleeve entirely out of my backpack and add a few buttons so they can be removed if not needed in the future. For the next designed model: Do not change anything except the visor sleeve. The shell must be detachable with buttons or Velcro and large (in length) to accommodate standard size visors. It needs to be detachable as visors these days are photochromic which is auto-dimming and eliminates the need to carry a spare visor on road trips.

Pros
  • Zipper
Cons
  • Basically ok but...
