Disclosure: Bought used by Revain - in very good condition for less than 20% of current price new. I'm the type that buys cheap stuff and then leaves reviews. It still had water in the filters and hull. Culligan publishes another patented system. It looks suspiciously similar to their EZ rotating system - Ez1,3 and 4 compatible - but it isn't. The two flow holes are the same, but the third key plastic element is different. It is this "key" that prevents Brita, Dupont, Culligan and AO Smith cars from sharing each other's systems. Third party replacement car manufacturers (Waterdrop and Aquacrest are two brands that do this at Revain) omit the 3rd key tab and only include water intakes and therefore can fit any of these brands. If there weren't a third key, any of these filters would fit and work in other brands. The problem with special carts for this model is that they are not very popular. While they appear to fit EZ1 and EZ3 cars of the same make, they will not fit (unless that key tab is present). Of course non-OEM 3rd party brands will also work and I have used these carriages on a similar system so far with no problems. The device itself is great and as long as carts are available it's a good system. It uses 1/4" pressure inserts which are very popular in flush water filters. However, this 1/4" system is unreliable and must be used correctly or it will leak. This applies to all systems using this type of piping I have installed many systems using these mounts and when they work they are great but when they fail it can be a disaster with no one around to prevent the water from spilling into the environment. Whilst of the setup reminds me how crappy the whole 1/4" pressure system looks, but that's for the sake of simplicity. A proper ventilation installation would be more reliable, but would probably also cost more than the actual new price of the filter system. It often takes a few days of observing/refining the connections to make sure the 1/4" system isn't leaking. However, once the system is set up properly, it works great with no leaks. This system was worth it what I paid for and it will be part of my filtration system. However in the future all replacement cars I buy will be 3rd party keyless. This system is equivalent to two individual units wired in series in one box. As I often run 4 filters in a row , I only need 2 of these not 4 individual ones. If this comes up again at a discounted price I will definitely be buying again. I am really just buying for the case and the filters that are included are a bonus. I also buy Culligan/Brita/ Dupont cases when I see them at a significant discount with the intention of using 3rd party filters after the filter originally included wears out.
