Very robust. The reason they want you to install them on 70+ is because the heat will help them stretch without tearing when you attach them to the hood and slowly stretch until they snap into place. So I didn't unscrew anything, my friend and I used a camel sized crowbar to pry the cap of each clasp. Just remember to put masking tape where you work or use a rag to avoid scratching the paint.
