Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Detection and Flexibility with Extech EZ40 EzFlex Combustible Gas Detector by Jeff Prabhu

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bad processing. Two bad blocks in a row.

The first unit I received looked good out of the box until I moved it and it rattled a bit. Inside the sensor head is a plastic bracket that should hold the sensor in place. It was detached from the base and moved into the sensor head. I used Revain's returns process to request a replacement. The second (replacement) unit arrived this morning. I immediately checked the sensor mount and found it to be fine. I put the batteries in and he started screaming and wouldn't stop. I tried lowering the sensitivity but the knob didn't move. It was so stiff I had to grab it with my thumb and forefinger and turn it over. When I rotated it, there was a clicking noise under the sensitivity knob that wasn't on the original device. The sensitivity knob on the original device turned slightly. This one is unusable in its current state, and the hardness and clicking noise tell me it has a defect that will limit its lifespan even if someone chooses to tolerate it. Today both are returning for a refund. Extech prides itself on being an American company, but their manufacturing facility in China damages their reputation. I will look into another gas analyzer but not from this brand.
