Truly a "winter weight" dog coat that actually has secure snaps, BUT NOW recommending that you ALSO PURCHASE & USE a Set of 4 DIAPER PINS, 2 at neck & 2 at chest, as our dog's strength & activities wrenched the snaps open and left him without it. This coat does not use unreliable Velcro. Fits well across shoulders & down around chest but wish it had reflective stripes for safety, covered more of our German Shepherd's long neck, long back, hips & sides. He wears it alone, with 4 diaper pins, or layered with a lighter weight reflective water & wind proof coat over this one. Our German Shepherd, Kaiser is very comfortable & happy with them as they do not bind or inhibit his very active lifestyle. Would definitely recommend this coat and also request that manufacturer to make an even larger (longer at neck & also tail/wider over whithers-hips) size, as we ordered their largest coat.
