I weigh 140 lbs, 36 C/D bust and 5ft 5in. I ordered M and L to be on the safe side. The average size was too small. "This is a good quality product. However, the underband is too wide so there is no support for my rather voluminous bust. The pads slide out and since the halter is lined it works great with or without pads. I could ask for my seamstress to put the elastic under my chest but then the elastic will become so tight that it will be difficult for me to pull it over my head (I am 69 years old. Sizes are small compared to my chest. I hope this review helps potential buyers. It's very cute and the bottoms fit me perfectly in a plus size. It was worth a try but I'm returning both.
