I bought these pants for my mom. She loves comfy, loose-fitting pants to lounge around in. These pants are true to fit. So I would recommend that you go by your dress size or pant size. I ordered the large for my mom. She wears between a 12 to 14 in a dress. I didn't want the pants to feel snug if I ordered the medium and I did not want them to be baggy either if I ordered the extra-large. They are long enough to cover the tops of house shoes or slides. They did not go under the heel or dragged on the floor. The pants do have a drawstring to keep that pants at the waistline. They feel really soft and are machine washable and you can dry them in the dryer as well. The designs give it an extra flair and you can mix and match with whatever tops you have at home.
