I was hesitant to buy this phone mount because it looked a bit "clunky" but I'm glad I did! Three great features: 1) The retractable mount allowed me to position the mount on the dash but the phone hung under the dash so it didn't obstruct my view in any way. 2) Although it comes with an adhesive pad to help install it on textured surfaces, a suction cup was more than enough to hold it in place even though my dash is a very textured material. Since the outstretched arm adds leverage, I was afraid it wouldn't stay in place, but it stayed right where I put it. Type of. To place the phone with one hand, I simply lower it into the device and clench my hands. To take it off with one hand, I just press the button on the back and my hands release it. It also outperforms the magnetic attachment system that I've tried for a while because it's much more secure. It holds the phone right where I put it.
