I've been using my hair for weekly deep conditioning treatments for many years and recently noticed that the cap has a crack I didn't keep the box so I didn't know there weren't any There was a model number and I certainly didn't remember if the hood was removed to replace it. Save your hair and money from all the processing and do a deep grooming with this safe relax in your favorite chair in your own home and if your hood breaks you can replace it. If like me you threw away your box, here's what you need to know: Model Number SB1XR1-800-326-6247 Location: Conair CorporationEast Windsor, NJ 08520 I use mine for weekly deep conditioning treatments and here's how it works: You MUST have one LOW PROFILE shower cap with SATIN LINED (I have a lot of hair and once you apply all of the conditioner I can style my hair very easily with a flat cap). The cap has no satin lining, this defeats the purpose. To protect the hair from burns and drying out of the conditioner. Tighten the thread to adjust it to the head. Put a towel around your neck. Make sure the hose is at the back of your head to ensure even heat distribution (as the hose heats up, the towel stays away from your neck, and if conditioner drips, it lands on the towel, not your neck. Um to prevent the cap from slipping off your face, place the edge of the cap just above the shower cap (just above your hairline in front) you have under the cap, if it still falls off, you need to tighten the adjustment thread and then yourself just sit back and relax.
