Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Durability and Protection with KYB SB107 Strut Boot by Preston Molden

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Will work on a 2002 Accord with modification

KYB SB107 is the recommended C-pillar cover for the 2002 Honda Accord Excel-G. So I ordered a pair of SB107 boot kits with KYB 341258 Excel G stays for my EX V6 coupe (for C-pillar work). The photo suggests that you will receive a black harmonica. What you actually receive does not match the product photo. The SB107 actually consists of a black bellows (dust cover) and a white fender. All right, that's fine. The quality of the materials is good. The installation instructions tell you to first insert a fender into one end of the bellows. It was easy enough. Then put the two connected parts on the damper shaft. The problem is that there is a metal clip on the Excel-G shock (which I can't remove). The bottom hole of the SB107 firing pin is large enough to fit over a metal ring. But the fender top hole is too small. So I had to enlarge the top fender hole on my drill press so I could slide the assembled SB107 through the ring and onto the KYB shock shaft. Now that it's installed in my Accord it seems to be working fine. I have to deduct a few stars as I had to do a bit of work to make it fit.

Pros
  • OE design and quality
Cons
  • Safety
