Review on 💾 WD Blue 3D NAND M.2 2280 SATA III 6 Gb/s Internal PC SSD - 1TB, Up to 560 MB/s - WDS100T2B0B by Western Digital by Michael Shim

When I was building my new computer I knew I needed an SSD as my primary drive and I wanted it to be big enough so that I didn't have to constantly worry about space and all my data must keep files on separate disk. This is my first M.2 drive and I really wasn't prepared for how small it is: It's about a quarter wide and deep and three quarters long. or power. On my motherboard it's hidden under the heatsink so I can't even see it, although I wasn't sure if the sticker needed to be removed since it has a heatsink. I chose to leave the sticker on and the temperature stays at 45-46 degrees Celsius. I cloned my 1TB WD Blue HDD boot drive to this SSD using CloneZilla and had no trouble booting. Western Digital may have tools for this as well, but I haven't checked as CloneZilla has always worked great while other tools I've tried have not. In terms of speed, I didn't experience any stuttering or slowdowns between this and my Intel Core i5-8600. It's awesome! I should note that while this is an M.2 drive, it is also a SATA drive and not an NVMe drive. For me, this meant that I could only connect it to a specific M.2 port on my motherboard, since due to the two M.2 ports, only one accepts both SATA and NVMe, while the other only works with NVMe. So please make sure your motherboard supports M.2 SATA before purchasing.
