Asus is probably the only router brand I will ever buy. That's cool. I replaced my 802.11N router with this 801.11AC(1750) module and went from 6Mbps to almost 30Mbps in my living room. I'm looking for a second router to set up for a project. One of the nice things my friend likes about his Asus is that in the stock software there is a way to create a VPN (Virtual Private Network) natively. I'm not sure when Asus moved to this feature, but this router does. I wouldn't even bother with dd-wrt in this case. I bought an old Asus router which unfortunately doesn't come with built in VPN functionality so I'm trying to install and configure dd-wrt on it - but again the RT-AC66R is great. The interface is great. Super easy to set up and use. I really recommend this line of products to everyone. Also, it's good to know that the RT-AC66R is the same model as the RT-AC66U, just a different model number, as some retailers require it (to avoid price overlap).
