Problems with drivers/ Faulty bluetooth USB cable/ Unstable operation with my MSI 970 mobo/ Invalid model number

6/6/2020 DO NOT BUY. This "MSI HERALD-AX INTEL AX200NGW" was a downgrade for me. If I could go without stars, I would. I recently found that my system instability is due to having this Bluetooth card connected to my motherboard for the past 6 months. I thought it was because of hidden Win10 updates but no. From time to time [at least once a week] it would hang and screech like a stun gun in my speakers until it resets or due to a checksum and reboot it crashes instantly. Nowadays, performing multiple times a day has gotten worse. When it's disabled it seems to stop completely but now the card only works as wifi which makes it unusable for me as I'm hard wired to ethernet and have been using that solely for bluetooth audio and controllers. I bought on a 3 year plan if it turns out to be a lemon and now because of the warranty I have to call them for a replacement or try to get a refund if only about drivers / incompatibility. For now, I would recommend keeping your distance. Sounds like the drivers are buggy or the cables/card are poorly tested and physically defective. Some people claim this card's drivers are the problem, others say it only works in the 1x PCI slot, but even rearranging my GPU in the 8x slot to make room and trying to do that , they have only partially stabilized for a short time. The ONLY thing I haven't confirmed is that they said it only works in the first/top 1x PCI slot, but anyway it shouldn't cause that much instability that I can't watch Netflix or play in-game.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
