I was looking for a way to protect the outside ventilation of my portable air conditioner (the air conditioner exits through a 5" hole in the wall, not a window as I was the only one in my room that had a window that opened outwards so I made a hole in the wardrobe which is also a good place to hide the air conditioner). This is a good simple solution to keeping the weather out of the air conditioner outlet. It's easy enough for the flaps to open when the air conditioning is turned on without restricting airflow. I simply attached it to the wall of the house with 4 x 1" stainless steel self-tapping screws and 3/8" square netting to prevent critters (birds) from entering when not in use. Work great and look neat.
