Review on πŸ”Œ Anker USB C Hub for MacBook: PowerExpand Direct 7-in-2 Adapter - Thunderbolt 3, 100W PD, 4K HDMI, SD/microSD Reader by Kevin Mckechnie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Updated - Got a new one from Anker - Heats up to 95 degrees F

Updated - Got a new block from Anker. A new fully loaded unit heats up from ambient to about 95 degrees, which is much lower than the previous unit. I ran a test with multiple USB sticks while loading and playing video on an HDTV to see how it gets as far through the unit as possible. I give it 5 stars because some heat is normal even with a standard USB drive. -------Original Review Below---I really liked the MacBook Air's design and dual-port connectivity - I am planning to return this product as the heat from touch on the device will eventually become hot and then be transferred now on my laptop bag due to the connection design. I have a Kingston Nucleum which is more suited to a home connection - that gets warm too but the cable ensures it doesn't transfer to the laptop. I didn't read any reviews on it, which surprised me, and that might be why Apple decided to remove these components in the first place and provide more CPU/GPU cooling. Good luck - don't burn your laptop prematurely because of this. Adapter. It's possible mine is defective but I assume it's normal for a similar Kingston product and if it doesn't affect my laptop today or within the 90 day warranty but by next year I expect Speaker, USB issues - The C components are bolted right next to this 150-degree 7-in-1 beauty.
