A beautiful, very well trained German Shepherd loves to chase deer. We're on 130 acres in New York surrounded by freeways. Only when he sees a deer and it's already gone does he not come. With his long legs and the many trees that line the fields, we can't find him for a second after takeoff. He went missing three times while chasing deer, twice of which he crossed busy roads. We have this because the distance can reach the fields he likes to run in and if he sees a deer we can give him a vibrating alert. We only had to use a shock once and it hasn't decreased since. We keep it at the door and put it on directly before going out. In our opinion this saved our dogs lives or from being taken away by someone. Battery life is pretty good, it's easy to put on and take off, and the remote control is easy to take with you.
