Great Fit: Filter & Gasket Kits

To remove the pan from the Silverado you will need to remove the linkage on the driver's side with Torx, there are two screws. Using a block of wood, lift the end of the gear about two inches. Loosen all of the bolts on the oil pan, either front (preferred) or rear, and let them drain some. Unscrew the other bolts and the pan comes out if you don't even inflate the jack. Pull out the filter. The smaller fitting it snaps into can be replaced if it looks ok (not easily removed without the right tool) or left in place. Insert a new filter, inserting it does not require much effort. Clean off any gasket residue on both the oil pan and the transmission. Apply some silicone sealant around the pan to keep the gasket in place. is an aluminum case into which you screw the screws). Lower the rear of the gearbox, tighten the nut and add 5 liters. Check it cold, then start the car and shift all gears twice and check the fluid with the engine running. This is the time for beer, wine, water or soda.
