Fits perfectly, no filter tip gasket required

Perfect fit for my 2009 Silverado 1500 4 speed transmission. I switched at 75,000 just because I wasn't sure if that was ever done. I didn't need the filter tip seal as it appears to be permanently installed in the gearbox and may just be used for other purposes. The washer fits snugly and if you lower the pan you can use the washer to hold the bolts in place before reinstalling. This will help keep the washer in place and less hassle trying to get the bolts in. I've only ridden about 20 milesโ€ฆ

Another installation problem

Most of the negative feedback is due to receiving the wrong part. *********Parts received have been confirmed to be suitable for the application. The deep pan, kit received and parts included have been tested for suitability for the application. However, I ordered (2) and both don't fit. The filter clearly does not meet OEM specifications. The problem is in the neck, both received devices are offset by 8 degrees compared to the OEM device. This allows the pan to reach the filter beforeโ€ฆ

Fits Tahoe deep sump transmission

I used this on a 2000 Chevy Tahoe deep sump transmission (the one with the drain plug). It worked well and there were enough small holes in the gasket to secure the bolts when attempting to reinstall the pan. It was a lot easier than the previous seals I used when changing the transmission filter. A word to the wise. Read the insert for the new filter. Make sure you clean the old gasket very well and don't use sealant on the new one. Between that and observing the torque settings on your boltsโ€ฆ

Great Fit: Filter & Gasket Kits

To remove the pan from the Silverado you will need to remove the linkage on the driver's side with Torx, there are two screws. Using a block of wood, lift the end of the gear about two inches. Loosen all of the bolts on the oil pan, either front (preferred) or rear, and let them drain some. Unscrew the other bolts and the pan comes out if you don't even inflate the jack. Pull out the filter. The smaller fitting it snaps into can be replaced if it looks ok (not easily removed without the rightโ€ฆ

Suitable for spare parts

To remove the pan from the Silverado you have to remove the linkage on the driver's side with Torx, there are two screws. Remove the gear mounting screw and lift the wood block end of the gear up about two inches. Unscrew all the bolts on the sump, either the front (preferably) or the rear, and let it drain a bit. lift once. Pull out the filter. The smaller socket it snaps into can be replaced if it looks good (not easily removed without the right tool) or left as is. Put a new filter in, itโ€ฆ
