I got these less for shorts and more to wear under dresses when I need to walk around a ton and don't want pain in my thighs. Most other shorts make a swish noise when you walk, which no one wants. These don't. Totally soundless. They don't really hold you in, but I guess they do smooth out a bit. I haven't tried them with a tight dress, so not sure if the lines would show, but they work great under a flowy dress. I even bought more. No more chub rub!
