Due to conflicting reviews I was hesitant to order this product. More than happy I did! We bought our leather sofa about 10 years ago and spent more money on the sofa than I ever thought possible. After years of sun exposure and use, it's quite faded in places as you can see in the photos. I followed the directions and did a water test to see if this product would work on our skin. The water got in so I placed our order. I first used the leather cleaner all over the couch and let it dry as directed. Then I applied a colored balm (dark brown) to all seats, let it dry and polished it. I applied a second layer of color balm to the faded areas and let it dry again. Then came polishing, lots of polishing! It came alive again. When I placed my order, the leather conditioner (last step) was not available. I ended up using a leather conditioning product called Leather Honey, it worked well to add shine and provide some water resistance. You must use a leather conditioner after the polishing process, without which the product is NOT remotely waterproof and will stain when wet. I would recommend trying this product if the product that came with it is still not available. Colored balm is of great importance. I ordered a second one (just in case) and I didn't need it, I just used a little over half the glass for the entire section. Colored balm covered many small scratches from our cat. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Do a water test. This product has worked exceptionally well for me, but I could see that something would go wrong if trying to use it on anything other than 'genuine' leather and not following the drying steps and times. I've noticed that areas that were particularly bad/dry get small scuffs/scratches. I will touch up and apply more conditioner to try and moisturize my skin which has been very dry from the sun exposure. I never spend that much time on reviews but I feel like with a product like this it's important that you don't want to ruin expensive leather furniture! This product has brought my life back to life and I am thrilled with the results.
