Less bulky alternatives are available.
They work well and the dual socket model is handy in some environments. I'm not sure why they are so big. There are miniature transducers that are about a third smaller in size and weight. Perhaps these larger ones are better suited for heavy loads like hair dryers. For my trip, the smaller ones are much easier to pack and use with phone and computer chargers, a sleep apnea device, and a battery charger. I would not travel with these big boys again.
