Hot to the touch in iron
This is a decent mat that keeps heat away from the surface it's on but gets incredibly hot when in use. My curling iron doesn't have a base, so the hot part sits right on top of the mat, which is probably why it gets so hot. Compared to much cheaper rugs I'm not sure I would buy them again. This keeps my wand from slipping off the stand and moving around so easily.
