The ability to connect with people who are like me in different parts of my life, from school (in one case) through employment into retirement! It is nice that I am able see how other members have navigated their career paths as well; it helps give perspective about what might be possible for myself if some things don't work out quite right or others do turn up unexpectedly.

There's nothing really negative here - just get involved!! Make sure you use all resources available before committing yourself fully because there could potentially be consequences down-the line should your situation change suddenly. In this scenario, we were trying not only find support but also identify potential opportunities within our local area which was difficult without having access to more information than simply where someone lives/works etc.
