I connected a monitor to my gaming laptop via a USB-C Thunderbolt Displayport that still supports any refresh rate up to the advertised 165, but I had to purchase that cable separately. It comes with all the usual cables you need. The speakers on the monitor suck, but that's to be expected from my experience with monitors, so I'm not including that in my rating. The picture is excellent and the controls on the back of the monitor make navigating the menus easy. Play around with the options to get the juuuuust image the way you like it. The color scheme is excellent, the response is immediate. The freedom of movement with the stand is really good, especially since I have a height-adjustable desk. When I move the table, it's easy to adjust the monitor so that any position is comfortable. The only thing to really note is the 1080p resolution on a 27-inch screen. If you look closely everything will look a little blocky. In games, which shouldn't make much of a difference, even a little anti-aliasing can hide it, but outside of games you'll probably notice it. I don't care, but if you think you could, you'd better go for a 24-inch screen for that resolution.
