A while back I wired one of my ringbells by drilling a hole in the wall next to the junction box. I then carefully bit off the drywall next to the box to get a small access hole to route the wiring through. After that I put the old disk back on and found that everything is fine. But it wasn't all good. Next to this switch panel there were clear traces of plasterboard tampering. I resigned myself to that fate until I discovered the "oversized" switches (who knew?!). It was just what I needed to save face (literally with the wall, but figuratively with my family). He more than covered up the missing piece of drywall and everything looks damn professional now.
