These gloves are very tough upon arrival. They need some time to tap heavy sacks to make them soft. Otherwise, they will spar hard on your opponent and just try to hit him. The double closure is ideal for wrist support. However, as others have pointed out, the space inside is a bit cramped to begin with. When you put your hands in the gloves, the Velcro of the inner double strap sticks to the hand wraps, making it difficult for you to put your hands in the gloves without getting caught. When I stuffed my hands into gloves and bandages, there was so little space that my hands began to cramp. I prefer to wear these gloves without wraps. These gloves have a slightly more compact feel than other 16 ounce gloves and are more snug. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the issue of the velcro sticking to the hand wraps when trying to put your hands in and the cramped space inside.
