As expected, this electric wine bottle opener works great right out of the box. This makes it much easier to remove the cork from a wine bottle than with a manual corkscrew. Charging is easy and pleasing to look at thanks to the subtle blue light that illuminates during charging. I prefer this type of direct AC charging over batteries. The problem with these types of electric openers is that they typically don't last more than a few years - I've had several over the years and they've all failed within 2-3 years. Once the battery runs out, you can throw away the bottle opener as it is almost impossible to replace the battery. But given the relatively cheap price of the bottle opener, I don't care.
