I doubted this was the item I wanted or wanted. Of course, there are other common kitchen utensils that can be used in place of a pizza peel, but they don't have a handle. I considered wood and metal bowls and chose them solely for the folding handle. I couldn't be happier with my decision. The bark is very durable and the handle folds easily for storage. A cooking tip: if you make your own batter and it's even a little sticky, load the skins with cornmeal before placing the batter on the skins. I mean LOAD, it's over. Too much is never enough. If you don't, you'll go insane trying to slide the pizza off the skin and onto the pizza stone.
