Not as good as Winsor and Newton designer gouache but still a great colour. I like that it doesn't tear. Cracking some colors of my other gouaches. This set is a good top coat paint. It is thinner than designer gouache from Winsor and Newton Designer but almost as opaque. It's definitely better than Reeves' gouaches. I will use these colors with Winsor and Newton gouache. These are bright colors, not matte at all and not cloudy. I took the picture 3 days after it dried and it hasn't cracked at all like other gouaches. After drying it is a matte finish. $40 for 12 tubes is a steal ($3.34 per tube). My Winsor and Newton designer gouaches are around $10-$12 for a 14ml tube. This kit contains 10ml which is a lot. The brush that comes with the kit is nylon (I think) but it can be used. I have brushes that work better.
