When the dock arrived it felt very solid; It is mainly made of aluminum and plastic. I was very happy to use it now, I only had to connect 1 cable to connect my laptop to my office instead of 4 different cables like I had in the past. Everything was fine for the first half hour until I noticed that my mouse was very buggy. I assumed my mouse was out of batteries, but when I plugged it directly into my laptop it worked perfectly. Likewise, my headset stopped working and it worked perfectly as soon as I plugged it into my laptop. I also noticed that the dock is quite hot now. In fact, after a day of use, I realized that the docking station can really only work with an HDMI cable. It sucks because now I have to plug all my peripherals straight back into the computer like I did before I got this dock and that makes this product a bit useless and hard to recommend.
