available I do not know how to answer the question of how many stars to give this thickness. It's not bold at all, does that mean it's 1 out of 5 fat stars? You don't necessarily want it to be thick lol, you want it to be the exact shape and size to fit your laptop's compartment. and in my case it happened 100% on my Thinkpad W520. So I recently upgraded my Thinkpad W520 laptop with an SSD leaving me with a 500GB hard drive on my desk and I thought. Hmm, maybe I could pull out a very rarely used DVD drive and use that old drive as extra storage? Well the answer is yes if you buy it. and when i got this in the mail, i had the dvd drive, hard drive installed in this device and connected to the laptop within minutes. When I logged into Windows, my hard drive was recognized immediately. I couldn't be happier with this product. I'm actually considering buying an even better hard drive to put in it now that I know it works so well.
