We bought this grinder after searching all the home made corn grinders online. Before this purchase we sanded by hand. We didn't know how long to walk for grits, food or masa. Not much performance, but what can you expect from commercial performance at this price point. Surprise! 1.5 minutes gave us a very good masa. 0.5 minutes gave us unstable sand - a mixture of masa, flour, small and large cereals. screening required. The grinder is LOUD, but we expected it to be so because it takes a long time to grind corn. If you really needed to clean this grinder it would be difficult as removing the blades is not easy and you cannot remove the grinding jar. The corn we ground was completely dried so the remaining dust was brushed off. We'll see how well this motor holds up as we still have 20 pounds to grind.
