This is a durable hole punch that works well on photo paper. The opening is great because you have a very clear idea of what you're punching and the paper pops out so you can get it easily. However, I don't like the squeezing effect. I don't have particularly big hands, but the skin on my palms gets pinched between the grips when I squeeze them unless I position them a certain way. It's also not an ergonomic position - the way your hand is in relation to the paper is quite uncomfortable. I also had trouble positioning the paper correctly. I wanted to use two hands to steady the paper for accuracy (because of the uncomfortable sideways position) but when I let go the paper slipped. I think that the vertical position of the hands (like a regular hole punch) would be better. The punch is very durable and well made and Fiskars is a great brand. I think it will last forever, I just think the design could be improved.
