Review on Eventek Variable DC Power Supply - 32V 10.2A Adjustable Bench Power Supply With High Precision LED Display And Alligator Leads For Switching Regulated Performance by Ryan Selpasoria

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not to bad for the price.

I tested the voltage and current out of this with my Fluke meter, which I would expect to be not to bad, and it was spot on to what the read out was showing.I find adjusting the values to be very sluggish, but im in no hurry, and after a few times operating it, you get used to it and can dial in a value fast enough.I dont like the inability to adjust the current limit until there is an actual load on though. I just shorted the leads and adjusted, then applied the power.I dont have a way to test how fast it can cut the current, but it seems quick enough for my needs. The display people have complained it a bit to dim. I didn't find it all that hard to read in a well sun lit room. It was not exposed to direct sun light though. But hey, even my iphone i can hardly see in sun light, and this thing was a 10th of the cost of that :()It also does take an abnormally long time for the display to go out after turning the power off. I quick short of the leads helps discharge what ever caps are keeping power in there though. When I first read someone say something about it taking a while, I was expecting like 1-2 seconds and just not instant.this thing took what seemed like 20 seconds or more before it finally went out, lol.Anyways, for 100 bucks, this seems a pretty nice little power supply. I do not know how much its capable of, I only took it to 12v and about 4 amps, and then not for very long.

Pros
  • Lab Instruments & Equipment
Cons
  • The power supply is not very intuitive and requires a lot of trial and error to operate
