Review on Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 AF DC OS HSM Zoom Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras by Isabella Baez

Okay, maybe not perfect, but damn good and you can't beat the price. I'm the little guy who takes the 60D with me on long trips. Things get very difficult very quickly. If I had my own drum kit I would take that, my 50mm Canon f1.4 and Canon wide angle. But at the end of the day, the 64-year-old's shoulder will explode. I went with the kit lens and Tamron 17 at 50mm 2.8, it's a great lens. However, this Sigma is the most practical thing to carry around. It offers excellent range without overdoing it so much that quality suffers unnecessarily. I recently took my Canon 50mm and Canon 10-22mm zoom to Europe. After all, it was pretty much the only lens I ever touched. I give it a five because although it's not a Rolls Royce, in my experience the quality for the price is second to none. PS Get that instead of a Canon kit lens. However, the kit lens is a very good backup. The kit lens can't match Sigma's results, but it's a great replacement, very light and generally adequate except at very wide angle settings. You never know when a lens might fail. My well-designed Tamron drove into the wilderness of New Zealand and I was very sorry I didn't have a spare tire with me. No lens lasts forever.
