Review on πŸ’— Pink TOPSKY Dual Motor Electric Adjustable Standing Computer Desk: Ideal for Home and Office Spaces by James Nielsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Affordable, easy installation

Due to the WFH madness during this unprecedented time, I was looking for a sit/stand desk that wouldn't break the bank. After looking through dozens of different brands, I decided to try TOPSKY as it had two engines and was great value. Packaging: I was very surprised at how well the frame was packaged. Each piece was protected by thin cellophane wrapping and even small wooden inlays separating each piece. I noticed that there were some fingerprints left on some parts, so it looks like some manual intervention took place before they were fully boxed, but it wasn't enough to negatively impact the frame's overall score. Installation: Taking a few minutes to understand the logistics of the frame makes a lot of sense. You will rely on the schematic illustrations in the installation guide and try to find the correct supplied screws. Basically everything went well, except for one of the legs with a motor. The screw WILL NOT FIT by design (the motor blocks any possibility of the screw being securely fixed in the hole). All in all, it took just under two hours to fully assemble the frame. Countertop: There is NO countertop in the package in case you haven't noticed. I bought a BEKANT countertop from IKEA that is 55" wide and it works great. The BEKANT already has pre-drilled screw holes, but you can just ignore them and drill your own holes. Prepare your power tool and set up the table top in just a few minutes. As far as I know, TOPSKY is in the process of purchasing some custom frames for these frames, but they weren't available when I ordered the frame. treat it as a countertop. I've also heard good results using a sheet of wood that's thick/heavy enough and doesn't even have to screw it in, but I would have general safety concerns (what if someone accidentally hits it? Goodbye Laptop and monitor!) Usability/Durability: I try to stand for at least an hour or two during my workday. The purpose of these sit and stand tables is to encourage movement by improving circulation. a golden number for you to sit and stand, but if you do this enough throughout the day you're helping your body by changing position, which also encourages/reminds you to get away from the computer and your mind to refocus. The dual motor is VERY quiet. Most of the time I have my desk at maximum height, but when I adjusted the height it was very quiet and it takes less than 30 seconds to go from minimum to maximum height. The remote control is very easy to use: wake it up (press any button) and hold the up/down buttons at the desired height. I'm a little under 6ft and the min/max height is fine for me. Take this into account as this is the main difference from other frames. The durability seems to be good. I have the frame on carpet so there will inevitably be some wobble. There's a slight wobble when I'm standing and typing, but not enough to cause any problems. I would imagine putting the coasters on solid wood would be even more durable. I currently have a 27" C-Clamp monitor, keyboard and mouse along with the laptop. My desk is 55 inches wide and I still have plenty of desk space. Conclusion: In this price range it will be difficult to find a frame with two motors at this price. He does his job and he does it very well. Other than not being able to bolt part of the frame I have not had any issues with this frame and am very happy with my purchase. I also like that I can essentially upgrade my countertop at any time since the frame has an adjustable width. If I ever need a shorter or wider table, I have the ability to do so without having to buy new coasters. I would recommend this frame to anyone shopping on a budget.
