Review on Black Diamond Couloir Harness Ultra by Louis Asok

This product was purchased for skiing/touring (not climbing) as a lightweight option to wear over winter gear for protection from the occasional fall. Well, the first time, after you got used to the push off, one of the leg buckles snapped, leaving one leg loose and dangling on the descent. Terrible disappointment for a product that is rarely used, kept clean and in a good dry place. Not what we expect from a Black Diamond product. It seems the product sacrificed quality to get a lite version. What is the use if the equipment fails at a critical moment? Something is wrong with the design. Also the waist belt could be 6-8 inches longer - very difficult to put on over winter gear (male user, 180lbs). Anyway, we needed 2 people to dress (size L/XL). The concept is appealing. The product is disappointing. We do not recommend at all.
