The interior lighting unit with sealed wiring is sealed and waterproof. However, this part does not slide well in a chrome case. A little tampering will result in the entire chrome and plastic light assembly not bolting flush to the boat. I had to take it apart and reinstall it a few times, scraping off some of the plastic to improve the fit. Then I finally mounted them flush. I should mention that they are very bright. They are excellent for flooding the stern, night work or at anchor.
