Review on 🔌 Hardwire Charger Mini USB Straight Plug: Direct Wired Charging Kit for Auto Dash Cams by Douglas Cochrane

This is a great idea and I originally gave it five stars. But they are said to have a "low power cutoff" at 11.6V, which sounds like a great idea but doesn't seem to be precisely calibrated. I bought two of these and when my car key was in the "on" position the wires I connected to showed 12.58 volts which is the same as reading directly from my battery terminals. However, none of these power supplies can be switched on. When I start the car there is 13.9 volts across the wire which is typical of the output of the alternator and THEN they turn on. It annoys me that I can't use my DVRs when the engine isn't running. Update to this review: I noticed that when using the car air conditioner and idling at the traffic light the voltage drops back to around 12.5 volts and they turn off. It's annoying that I can't use them in my car with the AC on unless the car is moving.
