I use this to protect the front of the door hinges on a Jeep Wrangler. It is easily cut into 1.5" strips which are simply taped to the protruding portion of the hinge to protect against rock chips. I do a lot of off-road driving, riding on gravel/dirt tracks in the woods, and when I get back on the highway , rocks fly out of the tire tread at mach speed, obliterating anything in its path.The last jeep I saw looked like the door hinges had been war or sandblasted after a few thousand miles. This small strip of 3m tape completely protected the new Jeep and I heard catastrophic sounding rocks hitting and NO chipping.I replaced the tape a few times as the rocks cut/wear it out and car washes take their toll but it is very easy to apply and a roll is enough to last me for years.Very durable
