What a hose! The best power tool parts and accessories

I received this item for free as a Revain Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only ask for things I actually use and will use before writing a review. My existing reel hose was getting old, cracked and starting to leak. I had the opportunity to try this hose, so I ordered it right away. It comes fully assembled out of the box (pictured) but for attaching the coil to the included wall bracket. The wall mount is made of a material similar to nylon/plastic (pictured) and has four mounting holes (both mounting screws and hollow wall anchors are included). I got lucky and the mounting holes in this new mount lined up perfectly with the holes in my old mount. Since my old real hose was already attached to a post in my garage wall with just two screws, I mounted this bracket as well. Once tightened it was very reliable. Once the mount is tightened, all you have to do is attach the coil, which is a simple process. This hose reel is also made of plastic/polymer and is very light (especially compared to my old all steel hose reel). On the back of the spool is an aluminum rod that slides out of the bracket as shown. You place the hose reel on the mounting bracket, which is easy as they designed the reel with a built in handle, thread an aluminum rod through the reel and wall bracket and it is mounted. What I love about this reel is the thoughtful design and what you get with this package. Opening this up, I noticed that there were plastic caps screwed onto brass fittings at both ends of the tubing (pictured). This may not be a necessary step in their manufacturing and packaging process, but it ensures that dirt does not enter the hose prior to burial and protects the softer brass strands during transit. Good idea. The company also offers all the fittings you'll need for most applications, including a brass quick connector (for holding a tool), two FNPT brass connectors, and two MNPT brass connectors (shown). All connections are standard ΒΌ inch. You even get a full roll of Teflon thread seal tape here, a full roll, not a skimpy mini roll. Very thoughtful. Once installed I connected the fittings required for my application and connected a 6ft lead hose to my compressor and pressurized the hose to 80psi. There were no leaks, a good sign. I pulled out every 50 feet of this 3/8" hybrid hose. It's very flexible, especially since this is where the rubber hose was replaced. With a few pulls, it began to pull back, coiling with a lead that rocks back and forth when the hose is retracted back onto the supplied reel (pictured) This will prevent the hose from twisting on one end of the reel It appears to be nylon and time will tell if it will be strong and durable Overall am I am pleased with this hose reel and it looks great in my garage (pictured) I have a few additional comments and they resulted in deducting one star for "durability". The spool is designed to run on of the mount swings back and forth (180 degrees). When this happens there is a noticeable flex in the coil, but not to the point of cracking, just observable movement. It would also be a good idea to place this coil in a 90- Degree - Position to attach to the wall. The hose retraction is not very strong and I found I had to help feed the hose back into the reel during the retraction process. Not sure if friction from the nylon guide spool (another possible point of failure) was the culprit or just a weaker coil spring in general. It was still very comfortable but not as strong as my previous hose reel. As at the end of all my reviews, I wonder if I would really buy this item. Yes I would buy this and I would consider this hose reel good for a weekend mechanic or carpenter (like this guy) but nowhere near a commercially rated item. But for the price, features, and included digging accessories, it's a winner in my book and a keeper in my garage.
