Review on Dremel 90930 05 Carbon Brush Motor by Scott Welch

My wife gave me my Dremel Mdl 395 years ago. Tried to think how long, but more than 15 years. It was a workhorse, from cutting gaps in exhaust pipes to snipping off rusty brackets to cutting door hinge pins in half for removal. More things than I can remember. I tested it the other day by cutting four (4) lower arm nuts on a Nissan Pathfinder. Heavy use, lots of heat from engine, went through 10 cutting discs when they cut, jammed and broke two. The guys from Dremel know their stuff. I finally got to the point where I turned it back on and nothing. I patted his hand and he came. Typical behavior of a worn brush. I could get it to work by squeezing the brush holder washers, but it wouldn't stay. Using an old Harbor Freight POS tool, finished the last nut and ordered replacement brushes. Damn Dremel only lasts 15 years! Ha-ha-ha-ha. New brushes put in, pushed right on, and although the carbon brush was about the same size, the springs were twice as long. Heat made my old feathers. I saved the old brushes for parts after stretching the springs a bit. I won't be here in 15 years so this will come in handy for someone selling property. :)
