This is a great set of utensils for your lunch bag or to leave in your desk/car. Before I would use plastic utensils that didn't last long, broke easily, and were difficult to wash and re-use. Plastic spoons are too small for soups, and plastic knives barely cuts anything. Some reviewers have pointed out that you could just buy a flatware set and carrying case, or use your own, but usually flatware is heavier and cumbersome to use with food containers. I also dislike folding compact sets for camping since they tend to collapse and are flimsy.The utensils are a good quality stainless steel, and clean easily with hot water and a paper towel. Other sets don't have a teaspoon, and the bottle opener is a plus.
