The lighting is great - all my plants are thriving. BUT it took me 3 LOST nights to figure out the major downside - it starts "jumping" to the next take a full 3 hours BEFORE. In other words, mine was set to turn off, dim at 3am and turn on at 6am. What actually happens is that the light comes on at 3am and gradually gets brighter until 6am. Pretty brutal if, like me, you have this tank in your bedroom. So if you want to sleep before 6 a.m., don't turn the lights on until 9 a.m. and so on. I don't understand why companies can't provide real manuals anymore. The manual for this flashlight is more of an official disclosure. Even the most basic light settings are not in the instructions. There are a few videos that random people kindly posted but still only show half of the features. There is NO mention of this transition issue that cost me a good nights sleep. Also now that I've been using this tank for 2.5 months the light seems to have had a software bug on 2 occasions. Out of nowhere the program lights will flash and the light will not work without a complete reprogramming. It makes me nervous that I could go on vacation and come back to an aquarium full of dead plants.
