I tried 3 other lights before deciding on this one. From the cheap $30 you see everywhere to the $50 DA Ray Works current $100+ US and this Finnex is twice as bright as the Currentusa and the color is really nice. The LEDs match very well (smooth beam pattern where it doesn't look like individual LEDs). I like that the hue changes with the remote control. Really allows you to customize the color or your tank. The lighting is great - all my plants are thriving. BUT it took me 3 LOST nights to figure out the major downside - it starts "jumping" to the next take a full 3 hours BEFORE. I have been a big fan of Finnex for a number of years and although I still compare other lights when preparing new tanks I still choose Finnex for the overall quality and the price.
