Restore an Alcantara wheel to like new condition at a fraction of the restoration cost.

Works great! I restored my 10 year old BMW M3 steering wheel from a matte gloss wheel to a factory soft matte finish. Method: Take a slightly damp microfiber towel and place it in the microwave to heat. I then used the Sonax foam directly on the bike (start with a small area). Let it bubble and soak in. I then wrapped warm microfiber around the wheel to keep the heat going. After about 30 seconds, I began to agitate the surface with small swirls, gently removing the dirt. This worked well and left a very delicate but clean Alcantara finish. Let her dry and don't mess with her! Until it dries you can ruin everything by touching it with anything other than microfiber, it will almost fall apart in your fingers. Wait a few hours for it to dry completely. Then go back and brush lightly with a dry microfiber or alcantara brush to remove any lint. If the brush doesn't pick up, take a Remington RTFS-2 battery-powered cloth razor (for cleaning cotton sweaters after drying) and wipe the tablets off the steering wheel. You'll be amazed. It's like a brand new steering wheel straight from the factory! However, it is not processed at the factory. So if you don't back it up every six months, it'll just revert back to its original state, and in a way, faster. I haven't found a good treatment after careful restoration. All in all I saved myself a few hundred bucks by doing it myself instead of having to rebuild the bike.

Pros
