Review on πŸ“€ DBPOWER 11.5" Portable DVD Player with 5-Hour Battery, 9" Swivel Screen, CD/DVD/SD/USB Support, Remote Control - Black by Mario Panda

Inexpensive DVD player with TV and other necessary features

I chose a player with a TV tuner in M-Video and settled on a device from a well-known manufacturer. The case seemed to be reliable. I also liked the remote control with round, perceptibly triggered buttons. DVDs are read and reproduced beyond praise. Actually this is its main function. From standard USB flash drives and SD cards, you can watch videos, photos, listen to music, but the video must be converted to an MPEG4 format understandable by the device or its variants DivX, Xvid (create a file with the avi extension). I used mainly the Xvid codec. When viewing slideshows and still images, the eyes get tired quickly due to the low resolution of the built-in LCD. Under the same conditions, the screen of the cheapest 7-inch tablet computer is much better. So I prefer to open mp4s and photos on a tablet rather than on a portable DVD player. The resolution of the 9-inch display of this player is only 640x234 pixels, which is half that of a conventional smartphone. The TV receiver is very weak. If a TV with an indoor antenna perfectly displays 7-8 channels, then the Hyundai H-LCDVD908T player barely shows one channel using the same antenna. Especially for him, an antenna with an amplifier was bought almost at the price of the player itself, but even it does not allow for confident reception of more than 4-5 programs. In this regard, a Chinese cell phone with analog TV overtakes both a stationary TV and a portable DVD with a tuner, since it shows 12 TV channels without any additional devices. I connected a T2 prefix to the player, but it practically does not work anywhere. Rather, it works, but not in the area where I want to watch TV. In the country, for example, there is no T2 reception. So in the dachas, only the Polish antenna on the roof helps out. An interesting function of the game console. The player comes with a disc with several hundred games for the 8-bit NES system, or its famous twin brother Dendy. I turned on the long-forgotten action movie Contra, played a little. Probably will appeal to those who have nostalgia for classic console games like Mario. Game sticks have USB A connectors, but are only electrically compatible with this player. I did not study what they have inside and the location of the signals, but I will say for sure - I tried to connect them to a computer, the computer does not recognize them. Similarly, a standard USB joystick cannot be connected to the player. Actually, the instructions say in black and white: "Do not use joysticks that are not included in the kit." Despite the shortcomings, the device is good for its price - it can do a lot.
