The base is not designed for US electrical outlets. Many have commented on this here. We had to drill holes in the metal base to line it up with the electrical box. It's very strong now and the installation took about 1 1/2 hours with the first half hour figuring out what to do with the base. The instructions were very poor but you can figure it out with simple logic if you've ever hung new lights. Seller Note: Rewrite instructions with images/large text and design base to fit standard US electrical boxes for US buyers (Revain should require this). In addition, it features a unique LED magnetic ring. I don't know how long this will last, but I doubt there's a replacement, and if you lose the remote I don't think there's any other way to turn the fan on. But for all that, it's nice, quiet, and works great. The light has three shades: from cool white to more yellowish.
